ABOUT THE
FORUM

The International Civil Aviation Forum, hosted annually by the International Institute of Civil Aviation, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, serves as a platform for exchanges in international civil aviation. The Forum will facilitate high level dialogue and cooperation for civil aviation, aeronautic manufacturing, finance and technology sectors and academia. The Forum will bring together senior officials, executives and leading experts from around the world to engage in constructive dialogues aiming at promoting safer, more efficient, orderly and sustained development of global civil aviation. The Forum will also contribute views, insights and wisdom to the resilience and stability of global industrial chain and supply chain, and to the global economic and social development.

The inaugural Forum was successfully convened in Shanghai in November 2024, attracting nearly 300 participants including representatives from civil aviation authorities, International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), airlines, airports, aeronautic manufacturers, ANSPs, MROs and academia. Under the theme “Enhancing Global Connectivity, Embracing Green Aviation”, participants shared national and international policies, innovative initiatives, achievements made and plans and actions for future development on subject matters of harmonization of aviation regulations and standards, infrastructure connectivity, and environmental sustainability.

The International Civil Aviation Forum 2025 will be held in Shanghai on October 30-31, 2025. We have invited distinguished participants from civil aviation authorities, ICAO, IATA, airlines, airports, ANSPs, aeronautic manufacturers, industrial associations and the academia to continue the exchanges and dialogue.

Institute of International Civil Aviation

Institute of International Civil Aviation (IICA) is a new entity under SJTU established in February 2024. Based upon SJTU solid foundation in cultivating international talent and pioneering cutting-edge scientific research, IICA aspires to promote the enduring prosperity and advancement of global civil aviation, with the perspective to a world-renowned institute on civil aviation.
